Description
This exhibition deals with the impact of human actions on marine fauna. It is an activity designed to disseminate the results of two research projects led by Jaime Ramis Soriano, professor at the University of Alicante, on this topic:
- ‘Filling the gap: assessment of thresholds and impact beyond the sound pressure level linked to emerging blue growth activities’
-
‘Behaviour of bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus) in different underwater acoustic environments’
The exhibition is organised into six thematic blocks:
1. Importance of the underwater soundscape
2. The auditory sense of fish: Sound pressure level versus particle movement
3. Monitoring the soundscape in environments close to fish farms
4. Generation and propagation of seismic waves in the marine environment.
5. Tank tests to study the effect of noise on fish
6. The effect of anthropogenic noise on tuna in captivity
