The time in confinement has made us think about the good times we have had, where we were last weekend, the last time we went out to a restaurant, where we met friends or family or even the last time we went on a trip. In other words, we think about all these places we miss and would like to return to.
April 18 is the International Day for Monuments and Sites. With this celebration, ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites) seeks to raise awareness and make known the rich heritage that humanity possesses for better knowledge and protection. Specifically, this year's theme is "Shared Cultures, Shared Heritage, Shared Responsibility". With this, and understanding the situation in which we find ourselves at present, we would like to discover which are the most beloved places in La Vila Joiosa, be they monuments, beaches, corners of the city, etc. Of course, we will do it from home.
We propose to share photos on social networks (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) of places in La Vila Joiosa: the ones we miss the most, the most emblematic throughout history, the most popular at one time or another. You don't have to live in the Vila, anyone who knows the city can have a place that seems special to them for some reason. To be able to count them and make a ranking of the most shared places it is necessary to label @vilamuseu and put at least one of these hashtags #llocsdemavila #lugaresdemivila
The Vila has important monuments, many of them declared Goods of Cultural Interest but it also has many special places that are necessary to know to protect because they are important for the people, and that is a shared responsibility, as it says the motto of ICOMOS for 2020.
We will count the photos shared from April 18 to 24 and then publish the results.
On the other hand, we will continue to publish every day curious and interesting content of our heritage but from 18 to 24 April instead of telling stories from the pieces of Vilamuseu collections we will do it from monuments of La Vila Joiosa.
