Yesterday took place the act of donation of a work by Llorenç Pizà (Benaguasil 1950 - La Vila Joiosa 2012) entitled "Roques al costat de la mar".
This Valencian artist lived and worked as a drawing teacher at the IES La Malladeta de Villajoyosa. He collaborated intensively for years in Vilamuseu as a photographer and graphic designer. In 2017 this museum housed a monographic exhibition entitled "Llorenç Pizà: Elogi de la mar". This was one of the exhibited works.
The director of Vilamuseu, Antonio Espinosa, the wife of the artist, Malena Soler and his daughter, María Pizà, signed the donation certificate and they placed the painting in the place assigned to it in Vilamuseu. Both they and Jaime Ramis spoke some words about Llorenç Pizà and his work.
The work (acrylic on canvas) was briefly commented by José Piqueras, a great friend of Llorenç and also a drawing teacher. It represents the sea hitting the rocks of the cliff. Llorenç Pizà loved the sea and devoted a large part of his artistic production to this subject.
