Two of Europe’s most influential tourism bloggers visit Vilamuseu

Yesterday, two important international disabled ‘influencers’ visited Vilamuseu as part of a Blog Trip organised through the Valencian Tourism Community and PREDIF (State-wide Representative Platform of People with Physical Disability). This Blog Trip has a wide programme which allows the two famous bloggers to enjoy genuine accessible experiences for travellers within the Valencian Community.

After visiting Xátiva, Gandía, Segorbe and Castellón, Alicante, Guardamar and Santa Pola, yesterday, the ‘influencers’ devoted the whole afternoon to la Vila Joiosa. They visited the Valencian Chocolate Museum at Valor and Vilamuseu; they then spent the night in a Vila Joiosa accessible hotel. Today the programme closes with the PREDIF “Fiesta Tur4all” which will take place in the Town Hall Square in Valencia.

The bloggers spent around two hours in Vilamuseu and took a tour where they were shown how the universal design is applied to all the monuments, museums and managed activities.

Martyn Sibley, from Cambridge, is deemed the most influential disabled person of 2017. He is co-founder and CEO of Disabled Horizons, a magazine and learning platform. In addition he was co-founder of the web-site Accomable, about accessible travel. He uses a wheelchair, has an important blog (http://martynsibley.com) about travel and is author, lecturer and consultant for different governments, companies and social organisations that work in inclusion.

For her part, Núria Azanza, together with her partner, Juanjo Montiel, who are both blind, have, since 2010, one of the most influential, inclusive tourist blogs in Spain, SixSense.travel, https://blog.sixsense.travel/. Yesterday Núria had her guide dog, Oldo, with her.

Accompanying them was their personal assistant, Tatiana Alemán, Technical Director of Universal Accessibilty, Culture and Inclusive Tourism from PREDIF.

The Autonomous Secretary of Tourism, Francesc Colomer, stated at the official reception in the Lonja de Valencia that the object of this Blog Trip is to make known the accessible tourism on offer in the Valencian Community and to turn it into “a quality destination and leader in accessible tourism in so far as it is the place for everyone without exception”.
