Festum Alonis is a historical recreation festival about Roman life in Marina Baixa. Since 2012 it is organized every year by Vilamuseu, the Network of Museums and Monuments of the Vila Joiosa, the ancient Roman city of Allon, and since last year the municipality of l'Alfàs del Pí joined the event, through the Open Air Museum Roman Villa of l'Albir, becoming a regional event that covers what was once the territorial Allon.
This year, despite the situation of lockdown that we are experiencing, we do not want to give up the 9th edition of Festum Alonis, so it will be totally online. This will make it one of the first historical recreation events in the international scene to be held in this format, which will allow it to reach any place through the Internet.
Through the instagram accounts of Vilamuseu and Cultura de l'Alfàs, we will be able to connect directly with recreators of the Hispania Romana Association. Every day they will tell us, from different points of Spain, very interesting aspects about Roman life, which we will complement with information, pieces and monuments of the Roman Allon. Some of the topics covered in this edition of Festum are the Roman writing, the dressing table or women's clothing and our classic gladiatorial fights and military clothing. This mode allows interaction with the audience as they can make comments or ask questions live. These presentations will also highlight the most interesting aspects of the Roman heritage of la Vila Joiosa and l'Alfàs in relation to each theme.
The online format also allows us to make this year's Festum Alonis last a whole week, from Monday 27th April to Sunday 3rd May, with live shows at 12 p.m. and 17 p.m. You can consult the complete program in our social networks or in our web www.vilamuseu.es/festumalonis-en Remember to follow @Vilamuseu, @cultura_lalfas or @hispaniaromana on Instagram. You can't miss them!
