The exhibition reviews the last two decades of Valencian music where visitors to Vilamuseu will be able to discover the music groups and artists from the late 90s to the present day. It gives an overview of the musical revival movement that has taken place in the País Valencià.
In addition to the songs, the exhibition also includes graphic art, literature, festivals, family life, periodicals and links with students.
The exhibition consists of a series of thematic panels and display cases with books, magazines and merchandising. In addition, the website www.primaveramusical.ua.es adds graphic and audiovisual information with YouTube playlists and is the basic point of information on all the complementary activities that have taken place on the university campus and those that take place in each travelling exhibition.
The exhibition can be visited from 12 to 30 April at Vilamuseu, Monday to Friday from 10.00 to 19.00 and Sundays and public holidays from 10.00 to 14.00.
The opening took place yesterday afternoon, Tuesday 12 April, with an event in which the musical group Cultivepà collaborated with an acoustic performance. This was followed by a round table discussion on music in Valencian in La Vila Joiosa with the participation of Gaspar López (Sangatxo), Toni Llorens (Estrall and organiser of Alonis Sona), Carme Llinares (Cultivepà), Carlos Vázquez (organiser of Alonis Sona) and Àngela Devesa (Cultivepà) and with the journalist Marta Llinares as moderator. Once the colloquium was over, the attendees were given a guided tour of the exhibition.
The exhibition has already travelled around the country over the last few months: it has visited the music festival Feslloc, in Benlloc (la Plana Alta) and the Encuentro de los Puertos, in Forcall, the University Headquarters in Benissa (la Marina Alta), the Elche campus of the Miguel Hernández University, the Trovam fair in Castelló de la Plana, the University of Lleida, Mutxamel and several secondary schools in the País Valencià (in Alicante, l'Alfàs del Pi, la Vila Joiosa, Benidorm...). In addition, the tours will continue throughout the rest of the year with a busy calendar with events in Els Poblets, Montesa, Novelda, Xixona, Guardamar and Valencia, among other towns.
The poster for #PrimaveraMusical was commissioned to Helga Ambak. The illustrator from Muro (el Comtat) has worked in the field of music with designs and art direction. Among others, with ZOO, Smoking Souls, La Fúmiga or Inèrcia. For the work she did with Translúcid she received the Ovidi award for Best Design in 2020.
