La Vila Joiosa and Puntodis present the Museum's Voice project at a Segittur webinar

The Sociedad Estatal para la Gestión de la Innovación y las Tecnologías Turísticas (SEGITTUR) has invited La Vila Joiosa and the accessible technologies company Puntodis to present the pilot project Museum's Voice in the Webinar of the Red Estatal de Destinos Turísticos Inteligentes (DTI) on the 9th of March.

These webinars are highly valued by the Network, and have an important attendance of destinations and companies that are part of it. In this case, the theme will be "Tourism accessibility, enabling technologies at the destination", and the destinations of La Vila Joiosa and Baeza will participate.

La Vila Joiosa will participate through Vilamuseu, which manages the museums and cultural heritage of the municipality, one of those that treasures a greater number and variety of monuments in the Valencian Community.  La Vila Joiosa belongs to the DTI State Network, the first created in the world, in which it was one of the 11 pilot destinations in Spain in 2013.

Museum's Voice is a product developed by Puntodis, a company with which La Vila Joiosa already carried out in 2020 the pilot project Chef's Voice for the DTI Network of the Valencian Community. The aim of the Museum's Voice project is to bring cultural heritage closer to everyone by combining tactile-visual works and information in different accessible formats (easy language, audio description, sign language, etc.). Three works on display at the Vilamuseu have been chosen for this purpose: La Redoma, a painting by Francisco Torres Oliver, a renowned translator and graphic illustrator of novels (winner of two National Translation Awards from the Ministry of Culture); and two images from the Maritime Museum of Barcelona (an ex-voto of a naval battle off La Vila Joiosa in 1766) and from the Digital Valencian Library (BiValDi) (a drawing of the 1538 corsair attack on La Vila Joiosa, the work of Rafael M. de Viciana). These two can be found in the exhibition 'Música, Pólvora y Desembarc', about the Moors and Christians festivities, which will last until 2024. Vilamuseu accompanies the works with augmentative communication pictograms, supports, heights and accessible typographies.

The exhibition also has the collaboration of different entities related to accessibility, both in the creation of accessible content and in its supervision and certification.

The webinar will be moderated by Víctor Badorrey, Director of Institutional Relations at SEGITTUR, and will take place on Wednesday 9 March 2022 at 12:00 noon (Spanish peninsular time).
