One of the main changes is that admission is free until the age of 18 for everyone, and until the age of 25 if they can prove they are students. With this, the museum strengthens its educational, cultural and leisure activities for young people, a public that has been growing significantly in the museum in recent years.
Another of the main novelties of the new Ordinance is the annual pass for only €5, which also includes the attendance to two guided visits. With this, the Department of Historical Heritage seeks to encourage the public, especially the local public (local and regional), to repeat visits and access the museum whenever they want, even if it is just to see a single piece, to enjoy an exhibition without haste and in parts, or perhaps to be inspired. The aim is also to promote the guided tour service, with which the public can delve deeper into the exhibitions, visit and understand the laboratory work behind each piece or resolve any doubts they may have.
Another of the new features is the consideration of "group" when there are 10 people, instead of 15 as before, with the corresponding reduction in the entrance fee. The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the way we access everyday and leisure activities, including museums, encouraging visits in pairs or smaller groups. Vilamuseu has explored different ways of adapting to the new times since it was allowed to open the doors of museums, which were the first cultural and leisure centres to do so.
