Vilamuseu in the International Congress of Puebla (Mexico)

The director of Vilamuseu, Antonio Espinosa, has been officially invited to give a keynote lecture in the 1st International Congress "Citizen participation in the processes of making a city", from 25 to 29 June in Puebla, Mexico, with the title "Citizen participation , integral local development, accessibility and inclusion as transversal axes of the Vilamuseu project, the Museums and Monuments Network of Villajoyosa (Spain)".

This great international event, which already records a remarkable success of inscriptions, is organized by the Faculty of Architecture of the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, the Faculty of Geography and History of the University of Barcelona and the Re-Genera Espacio Group. It will take place in the Paraninfo room of the Carolino building and in the facilities of the BUAP School of Architecture in Puebla.

It is addressed to at all those people involved in the exercise of an urban, architectural, artistic, heritage conservation and recovery of public spaces. The congress aims to be a forum to share the processes developed by different projects in the world, showing the benefits of collective work.

The Congress has six thematic axes: Memory and Identity, Urban Regeneration, Citizen Initiatives, Historical Centers and Heritage, Urban Peripheries and Urban resilience.

The Congress Committee considers that Vilamuseu is one of the best examples in the world and its director one of the best specialists in accessibility and inclusion in heritage environments, which is considered one of the most important aspects to consider in the contents of this international scientific meeting. For Villajoyosa it means a new opportunity to position itself internationally as a model of inclusive cultural tourism.
