Furniture

The furniture is an element that contributes to the recreation of the environments and that is one of the main attractions in terms of pieces of different styles and origins. Within the Vilamuseu furniture collection, those that come from the Barbera dels Aragonés House Museum stand out. This collection chronology from the 17th to the 20th century, and especially the 19th century. Among the oldest, we have the table of bondsmen (inv. 005130) in the office on the main floor.

Within a diversity of typologies and materials, such as wood or iron, we find diversity of styles; the Spanish adaptation of the empire style known as the Fernandino style, the sumptuousness of the Elizabethan style or the more austere Alfonsino style, between 1870 and 1900. Apart from these styles, we find in the collection some modernist pieces, characterized by sinuous lines and decorated with plant motifs.
