The Stone Cross (panel 27)
The junctions of Roman roads were considered sacred and magical places.
Later they were Christianised with stone crosses called "cruceros".
This one already existed in 16th century.
They were meeting points for workers or lovers.
On Palm Sunday a procession comes here to bless the palms.
The current cross was erected in 1939, because the previous one had been destroyed.
In 2006 it was moved to this side of the new road for easier access.
