The call for the 1st "Jaume Soler" Research Prize is finalised

The aim of the award is to promote knowledge and recognise excellence in research into the extraordinary tangible and intangible cultural heritage of La Vila Joiosa and the region of which it is the capital, La Marina Baixa. This award also aims to highlight Jaume Soler\'s outstanding contribution to the preservation of the historical memory of La Vila Joiosa and its region. The rules are being drafted for approval and publication in the near future, at which point works may be submitted to compete for the prize.

According to the proposal, any person or group of persons may compete for the 1st Jaume Soler Prize with a work related to the history and cultural heritage of Vila Joiosa or the Marina Baixa region, provided that Vila Joiosa plays a relevant role in such research. The deadline for submission is 28 September 2023. The prize will be 2,500 euros. La Vila Joiosa Town Council reserves the right to publish the winning work. The Jury will be made up of people of recognised professional competence in the field, and it is estimated that it will issue its decision before 15 November, and that the 1st Prize will be awarded in a public ceremony during the month of December 2023, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the start-up of the Casa de la Cultura and the creation of the Municipal Museum.
