Description

Vilamuseu is hosting a sensory exhibition on spices organised by Cátedra Carmencita de Estudios del Sabor Gastronómico at the University of Alicante.

The exhibition entitled "Spices, The Universe of Taste" takes place in a space full of aromas, transporting us back to millenary times. It reviews the importance that spices have had throughout history and the great benefits that can be extracted from them.

Through a sensual and lively format, the didactic tables and the natural plants make up a space where the smells, colours and images allow us to live a total experience of the species and their ancestral importance.

The curators of the exhibition, Josep Bernabeu (director of the Cátedra Carmencita de Estudios del Sabor Gastronómico) and Angeles Ruiz (coordinator of the cathedra), have had the scientific advice of the CIBIO and the Estación Biológica y Jardín Botánico de Les Torretes, directed by the UA professor Segundo Ríos.

Professors Victoria Maneu, Vanessa Martínez and María Tormo have also collaborated. The Servei de Lengües Vicerrectorat de Cultura, Esports i LLengües of the UA and the Centro Superior de Idiomas Universitario de Alicante have made the translations so that the exhibition can be followed with QR code in three languages; Spanish, Valencian and English.

The virtual catalogue of the exhibition can be consulted at https://www.catedracarmencita.ua.es/
